On Saturday morning 13 Sep 03, the Crestwood neighborhood welcomed home three of its sons, Marine Majors Walter Powers, Glenn Sadowski, and Thomas O'Connor with a parade and rally. Growing up as friends and serving together in Iraq, helped make the long months of separated from friends and family more tolerable, the men said. The three marine reservist served five months in Iraq with the 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment where their unit helped secure the city of Nasiriyah, established a police force, and restore infrastructure.

Following the parade from Crestwood Station, the rally was held at Annunciation's gym. Yonkers native and assistant secretary of defense presented Powers, O'Connor, and Sadowski with the personal coins of Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and Gen. Richard Myers, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Yonkers Mayor John Spenser presented the trio with proclamations from the city.
