The New York University Creative Writing Program is pleased to announce the launch of The Iraq Veterans Writing Workshop, a free, non-partisan outreach program offered to the veterans’ community in and around New York City.

Resuming in February 2009, an experienced and dedicated NYU Creative Writing Fellow will lead a weekly writing workshop for veterans of the Gulf War and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan in a wheelchair accessible classroom at NYU. This workshop will be free of charge, small in size (limited to fifteen writers), and will offer participants the opportunity to express themselves on paper, to bear witness to their experiences, and to explore the basics of the craft of writing in a welcoming community of fellow veteran writers.
