Passing of Detachment Member Howard A. Olson

TapsIt is with deep regret that we announce the passing of  Detachment Member Howard A. Olson, of Elmsford, NY on January 22. 2010, he was 85. Mr. Olson served his country in the 2nd Marine Division during World War II, where he served as a Corporal in operations at Tarawa, Gilbert Islands, Saipan, Tinian, Marians Islands, 0kinawa, Shima and Ryukyu Islands, for his service he received many Commendations including a Purple Heart. After WWII Mr. Olson became a Police Officer, retirlng.from the Village of Elmsford after more than 35 years on the job. He is survivied by his son Jeffrey Olson and daughter Barbara Borth, five Grandchildren and nine Great-grandchildren. Visiting hours Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Beecher Funeral Home. Inc., Pleasantville. Funeral services and are Interment private.
