Change of Venue and Day for Meetings

On 1 September 2021 the remnants of Hurricane Ida roared through the Westchester County area, resulting in unpresented flooding in the area. A causality of that flooding was the American Legion Gilbert Rauh Post #1574, in Thornwood, New York, the home of the Marine Corps League-Westchester County Detachment #254.

Ida Aftermath Affects Veterans Group In Thornwood

The end result of Ida’s aftermath is that the American Legion Gilbert Rauh Post #1574 has been condemned and not useable. The Detachment was able to hold their October meeting at the American Legion Adolph Pfister Post 1038, in Valhalla, NY. The Legion welcomed the Detachment. The Detachment has negotiated with the American Legion Adolph Pfister Post 1038, to use their facilities for our meetings. The membership also voted to move the monthly Detachment meetings from the first Wednesday of the month to the first Tuesday of the Month, pending the approval of the Legion Post. We are happy to report that American Legion has accepted our request to meet on the first Tuesday of the month.

The Detachment, effective 3 November 2021 will hold their monthly meeting on the first Tuesday of each month with July and August off for the summer. Please see our calendar of events for our upcoming meetings and other events.
