Passing of Detachment Life Member Edward A. Grimm

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Detachment Life Member, Edward A. Grimm, 81, who passed away on Thursday June 13, 2019 at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City.

He was born on August 13, 1937 to Edward and Hannah Grimm in Yonkers where he was raised and educated. Mr. Grimm served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corp. from 1954 to 1957. He was a longtime member of the Marine Corp. League in White Plains. He retired from Christ the King Church in Yonkers and Local 32 BJ. He married his loving wife, Sandra Knecht on May 16, 1973. Mrs. Grimm survives and lives in Yonkers. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind his children, Edward, Phyllis, Debra (Curtis), Maureen, Kimberly (Danny) and James. He is also survived by his 18 adoring grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. “He had a dry sense of humor, had an old school heart and adored his wife, children and grandchildren.”

Visiting hours will be at Whalen & Ball Funeral Home on Sunday 3-9pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Anthony’s Church on Monday June 17th at 10am.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
