Patriotism Plaque Presented to Local Business

On Saturday, 30 July 2022, Senior Vice Commandant Michael Waluk, along with Adjutant Paymaster Steve Topilnycky and member Marc Lenci of The Marine Corps League Westchester County Detachment #254 presented a plaque to Nick Barbaccia, owner of Mancuso Auto Body Repair for his loyal and patriotic service to the Detachment and Country.

The Detachment maintains a U. S. Flag Disposal Bin Project, where used flags can be deposited for proper disposal. Members of the Detachment collect the flags from six locations throughout the county, so that they can have a dignified and proper disposal. This program has been in affect since 2006, and mother nature took its toll on the boxes. The Detachment reached out to the Mount Vernon Auto Body Repair shop for quotes for his service to refurbish, repaint and update the signage. Detachment member Marc Lenci was the Detachment liaison who picked and delivered each box from its location to Mancuso Auto Body Repair, and Nick and his team did the rest. In the end Nick Barbaccia donated his services on the rehabilitation of these flag boxes to the Detachment.
